Dear Friends,

Jane and I invite you to join us on a pilgrimage to Italy! Many of us have traveled together before to exotic lands. Let’s add Italy to our experiences.

Italy is a land of culture and history, beauty and culinary delight. We will tour the Italian countryside in Tuscany and Umbria, and visit the grandeur of Rome. As we have on each of our journeys, we will dig into the Word of God.

There is nothing like walking where the Word was written. The focus of this trip will be Paul’s Letter to the Romans. We will gain fresh insight into the early church and the modern church too! Paul’s Letter to the Church at Rome is a powerful theological treatise that speaks volumes to us today and Rome is a magnificent city combining ancient and new. As we travel we will explore the final earthly days of the Apostles Peter and Paul as they faced martyrdom.

We will also gain insight into western civilization and culture. We will share warm fellowship over genuine Italian cooking and the delights of Tuscan cuisine and countryside. We will share the marvel of some of the world’s greatest artists like Michelangelo and Raphael, and architectural monuments in Florence, Pisa, Siena and Rome.

In addition, we have the opportunity to be led in our touring by our dear friends, David and Elizabeth Sparks. Many from Westminster have traveled with David and Elizabeth before and know how gracious and warm they are personally, and you know that every detail of the trip is first class and lovingly provided.

Won’t you join David and Elizabeth, Jane and me on this lifetime experience? We hope you do!

Grace and Peace to you,

Dr. Paul Petersen

Tuscan Cooking Class

No trip would be complete to Tuscany without a cooking class!  And there is no better cooking class than the one offered by Giuseppina and her family!  Giuseppina learned her culinary skills from her mother and aunt and over the years has refined them just for us.  After sampling a wonderful array of antipasti, we'll make our own pasta, prepare our main entree and whip up a wonderful dolce (dessert) to top off the evening.

Wine will be included with your deliciously authentic dinner.

Donning your chef's cap and apron, you'll relish this hands on experience.  This activity is not to be missed!

Price is for 1 person.

Farmhouse Dinner & Vineyard Tour

The lush Tuscan countryside yields a plentiful harvest of not only Sangiovese grapes for the production of Chianti, but a vast variety of produce.  On our Tuscan countryside tour, we will visit a working organic family farm and savor the vegetables grown by Federica and Umberto.  Set in a tiny medieval village, the Fenzi family farm will host us as we stroll through their vineyards, amble about the charming medieval buildings, and feast on seasoned meats, crostini, fresh and pickled vegetables and salad, and end the evening in a cresendo of cantuccini (almond biscuits).  Of course we will also have the opportunity to taste their flavorful olive oils and Chianti and Vernaccia wines! You don't want to miss out on this memorable experience in an unmatched setting.

Price is for 1 person.
