Dear Friends of Biola,

I would like to kindly invite you to join my wife Paula and me for an unforgettable 13-day pilgrimage to Greece, from June 11-23, 2017. Joined by other friends of Biola University, together we will retrace the footsteps of the Apostle Paul and be immersed in the rich history and culture of the early Christian church.

During our time in Greece, we will tour cities familiar to us from the New Testament records of Paul’s ministry, such as Thessaloniki, Philippi, Ephesus and Corinth. Touring these sites and walking in the very places where Paul ministered to the early church, we will see the Bible come alive and grow in our faith as we gain a richer understanding of the New Testament. In addition to exploring the historical land of Greece, we will spend 4 days cruising the Aegean Sea and beautiful seaside port towns of the Mediterranean, enjoying both historical and modern culture of Greece through its beautiful nature, cuisine, and people.

We are pleased to be joined on this trip by special guest and Dean of Talbot School of Theology, Dr. Clint Arnold. Dr. Arnold is an esteemed New Testament professor and has taught Talbot’s World of the New Testament course for 25 years. He has also written a historical commentary on the book of Acts for Zondervan, and was the general editor for the four-volume Zondervan Illustrated Bible Backgrounds Commentary on the New Testament. Dr. Arnold’s extensive knowledge of the history and culture of the Pauline writings will help us gain a deeper understanding of the biblical significance of the areas we visit and their relevance to our faith today.

Our tour will be managed and led by Footstep Ministries and the Rev. Dr. David and Elizabeth Sparks.   Dr. Sparks has conducted more than 100 tours to Greece, Italy, Israel and Turkey.  He uniquely weaves together the Apostle Paul’s ministry, Greco-Roman culture, and early church history.  Elizabeth Iliadou Sparks is a native of Berea, Greece and will show us her homeland as only a native can do.

Paula and I are delighted to be hosting this trip to Greece. It would be an honor to walk with you, fellow members of the Biola community, in the very footsteps of the Apostle Paul where he ministered the gospel of Christ to countless listeners. We hope you consider joining us for this unforgettable journey.

Blessings in Christ,

Barry H. Corey
